TeaForHealth™ Debuts New 710EGCG™ inabottle™
& 710EGCG™
Loose-Leaf Green Teas for Fighting Cancer Los Angeles, CA, October 7, 2005 – International Complementary & Natural Healthcare Expo & Conference (CAMExpo) – TeaForHealth today introduced two new anti-cancer green tea products, based on the de facto standard recommended by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for effectiveness against cancer. The new 710EGCG loose-leaf green tea and 710EGCG "inabottle" product line, in four ready-to-drink flavors, are available for the first time today. Based on the NCI pharmacodynamics data published in 1996, daily consumption of 1,200 ml (40 ounces) of green tea containing 710 mcg/ml (-)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), the surrogate yardstick to measure green tea antioxidant levels, is equivalent to 1.5 times the lowest effective dose in a 70-kg (154-lb.) person. Both the properly steeped and ready-to-drink 710EGCG "inabottle" and the 710EGCG loose-leaf green teas are organically grown, carefully produced, laboratory tested and guaranteed to meet the NCI de facto standard. "Green tea inhibits cancer effectively, even in humans, if it is consumed according to the recommendations of the National Cancer Institute," explained Sin Hang Lee, M.D., founder of TeaForHealth and cancer pathologist who successfully petitioned the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to issue its first qualified health claim for green tea. "Up to ten times the lowest effective dose can be well tolerated by cancer patients if properly administered. Whether used alongside chemotherapy or for cancer prevention, the issue has been that green tea of the NCI-defined strength is rarely available to the American consumers. We're very excited to introduce the first loose-leaf and ready-to-drink green teas in a cancer-fighting strength to America." The no cal and low cal ready-to-drink 710EGCG “inabottle” green teas are produced by the Center of Advanced Food Technology, Rutgers University, New Jersey, using tea leaves containing at least 7.1% EGCG and the patented, oxygen exclusion steeping method for maximum preservation of the tea antioxidants. The 710EGCG green tea comes in 16 oz. bottles for the convenience of the health-conscious consumers. All four flavors of 710EGCG green tea are created for, and marketed and distributed by, Fleminger, Inc. The new 710EGCG "inabottle" product line flavors include: unsweetened original, linden honey, lemon and diet lemon. The 710EGCG tea debut was accompanied by Dr. Lee's delivery of a speech on "The Science of Tea as Medicine" to members of the press and VIPs. Dr. Lee emphasized the importance of using organic, low fluoride tea leaves and care taken to prevent heavy metal contamination when brewing the beverage. Dr. Lee and his company, Fleminger, Inc., maintain an educational website at www.greenteahaus.com to disseminate evidence-based information to the public about the health benefits of green tea, and assert the use of green tea as a conventional food to help fight other disorders associated with aging, such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease and obesity. A high natural-EGCG green tea is available to consumers under the brand name of Dr. Lee’s TeaForHealth.
