November 28, 2005 – In October, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a public meeting entitled "Assessing Consumer Perceptions of Health Claims".  The meeting would present research assessing consumers' reactions to health claims and would address the implications of these studies for future research designed to evaluate consumer understanding of health claims and the effect of health claims on consumer perceptions and behaviors.

In response to the FDA request for comments related to this meeting held on November 17, 2005, Dr. Lee submitted a post-mortem analysis of the language of the green tea health claim, recently posted by the FDA on its dockets management website under Docket No. 2005N-0413.
