FDA officially concedes approval of two green tea anticancer health claims for the first time, but is requested to reconsider its claim language

In an interview with the editor of Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals Magazine, an FDA spokesman officially conceded that the agency did approve two green tea anticancer claims for the first time. The FDA has published Dr. Lee's petition for reconsideration of its initial ambiguous claim language. For consumer education, the scientific and legal grounds for this reconsideration can be viewed at the FDA Dockets Management website.
